The brief
Cydarm is a cybersecurity platform that helps security operations teams analyse and respond to threats. The product felt dated, and customers said it was confusing to use.
They had no designer on the team. They wanted to modernise the product and put a design system in place, so every feature they built next would stay consistent. Then they wanted three new features: a dashboard, a playbook workflow builder and a library.
My role
I was the product designer on the engagement, from the design system through to the new features. I designed the system and helped their engineers implement it.
What I designed
A design system the team could build on
Buttons, inputs, selects, cards, charts and more, in light and dark, documented for their engineers to build with.

A dashboard for security teams
A dashboard that gives security teams an overview at a glance, built from the system’s cards and charts.

Playbooks and the library
A workflow builder for the team’s incident-response playbooks, and a library for the procedures and documents they rely on.

Outcome
The redesign gave Cydarm a consistent foundation to keep building on. They kept working with me on a freelance basis until 2025.
